Google Street View
To All Our PCS users who receive our Hot Sheet Property Updates, you now have the added "Google Street View" feature as of Monday, April 12th.
Google Street View enables users to view and navigate within 360 degree street level imagery of most streets on Vancouver Island. Our PCS clients can now view high quality panoramic images of properties they are interested in, as well as explore the surrounding neighbourhood.
To use Google Street View from Private Client Services:
From the search results screen - Click the Street View icon in the search results column (the automobile icon) From the listing detail window - Click the "Street View" link towards the top right of the tabbed window.
When in Street View mode, the map screen will be split into two sections.
The bottom section displays the current Street View image. In this section, you are able to use the navigation controls to zoom and turn 360 degrees in any direction (you may also use the mouse to click-drag in order to turn). You can then 'drive' along the street by either clicking the directional arrows along the ground, or by double-clicking on some point ahead of you on the street. You may also view this section in full screen mode by clicking the icon in the top right corner of the section.
The top section presents a map view that reflects your location in the Street View section. The 'person' icon represents your current Street View location, while the red marker represents the location of the property. Any street outlined in blue indicates that this street has Street View imagery and you are able to navigate it. You can quickly switch your view to any of these streets by clicking on them, or by clicking, dragging, and then dropping the 'person' icon.
Please note that when Street View is first shown, it attempts to place the view and person icon as close to the property location as possible.
If there are no streets with Street View imagery close to the property, only the top section will display, allowing you to move the person icon wherever you would like to start navigating.
